Gone...But Never Forgotten

My sisters dog Honey was put to sleep on Friday night. To say I'll miss her is an understatement. I fed her on my way home from work every day for 12 years and walked her everyday until her arthritis wouldn't let me anymore :o(
She was a great dog...if you were a member of her pack ;o)

Hi Everyone,
I promised to update you on how my new job was going so here it is !

The actual job is going very well, i enjoy it and the days go quickly. My work colleagues are very nice. I deal with the porters & cleaners time sheets, laundry standing orders & queries, blood & pharmacy ad-hoc deliveries, non urgent ambulance requests, collating the monthly report for the managers, taking minutes at meetings and loads of other things.

But blimey after being there for just only two months you find out what's really going on! No one likes the main boss & most people are looking for new jobs! Apparently people who do my job and my line managers job don't usually last very long in them! My line managers only been in the job since January. The main boss is a tosser. He thinks he's upper middle class but was dragged up in Kingstanding. He doesn't know the correct way to manage people and I've witnessed him telling people off (when he's in the wrong) in front of everyone. He's never done anything towards me and luckily he's got his own office away from us all but I think he wants me to be his PA. There's no way I'd be his PA for the money they're paying me. They have already cottoned on that I'm a good worker and are trying to put more work on me that's not in my job description. I've told them I want more money if they're going to do that. Also the lady who interviewed me has just handed in her notice 'cos of the main boss. I've started looking for another job. I'm not going to do anything hasty (like I've done before :o( I'm going to let the job agencies know I'm looking and see what they come up with.

I hope you lot out there are ok. When are we all going for another drink? I miss you all very much. Everytime I watch the IT Crowd I think of you lot !!

First Day In My New Job

Hi Folks,
Well today was the first day in my new job. I am working for Amey who are a bit like CSC and buy up support services. They got me working straight away and not just watching someone work. I dealt with time sheets, their facilities helpdesk, copytyping and other admin. stuff. They seemed to like me and they all seem very friendly, down to earth people. I am having to work the first two weeks as an agency worker and then I go permanent with them (it's just their way of getting rid of me if they think I am crap!) Tomorrow I'm learning their sick leave and absence procedures and on Wednesday I'll be dealing with the laundry orders! I'll let you know how I get on.

~** A Trip To Brighton **~

Lisa and I went to Brighton for the day yesterday. We had a fantastic day of shopping and seaside cafes then ended the day with a concert by Blackmore's Night. We met up with their backing singers Maddy and Nancy after the show (see photo above) We also met up with loads of Blackmore's Night fans from all over the world that we've got to know through MySpace.

(PS, I'm not starting my new job 'til next Monday now!)

" I GOT THE JOB "

Hi Everyone,
I'm really pleased to let you know that I've got a new job. It is working for a company called Amey who the NHS have outsourced their mental health contract to. The job will involve working on their helpdesk, admin. and secretarial stuff. It is in the grounds of Highcroft Hospital in Erdington...in a secure building !!! (I can't wait for your comments!)

ANOTHER ANIMAL HERO HAS LEFT US :o(

One of my heroes has passed away. His name was Jim Cronin and he founded Monkey World, an ape rescue centre in Dorset. His wife Alison is going to continue the brilliant work they did together saving apes from all over the world...All I can think that if there's a god that with him taking Steve Irwin away prematurely aswell that there must be lots of animals in heaven that need rescuing.

** GHOST RIDER**

Just watched a brilliant film of the Marvel Comics character Ghost Rider. Every second of the film was pure escapism. Check it out as soon as you can...unless you've recently sold your soul to the Devil ;o)
